Joan B. Soriano, MD, PhD, FERS, FCCP

Dr. Joan B. Soriano is a medical epidemiologist. He is Honorary Professor of Medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, in Madrid, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Universitat de les Illes Balears, in Mallorca, both in Spain.

He has 400+ publications in PubMed and 10+ book chapters in the fields of clinical epidemiology and treatment of respiratory and tobacco-related disease, and a SCOPUS Hirsh index of 100 with 82,000+ individual citations. In May 2011 he received the Josep Trueta Award for scientific and medical achievements, in 2014 he was appointed Foundational Fellow of the ERS and Fellow of Chest, and in 2022 received the NeumoMadrid Award for A Scientific and Research Career.

Beyond a life-long interest in chronic respiratory and any tobacco-related conditions, Joan is active in COVID-19-related research, leading several research studies and clinical trials on Long Covid.
