Alexandar Sterling
Medical Scientist
Dr Sterling is a member of the Royal Society of Biology. He is a retired critical and pre-hospital care physician who transitioned into medical research post-pandemic. He has a special interest in respiratory physiology and the strategic use of machine learning and data-driven approaches to bridge clinical research and real-world clinical systems.
As the clinical lead for ISAR Quality Improvement, his current work aims to improve health outcomes for patients with asthma and identify gaps in our existing knowledge base. Dr. Sterling has previously taught and mentored medical students and junior doctors from the Universities of Cambridge, Dundee, and Sarawak.
Dr. Sterling has significant field experience, working in environments ranging from multi-organ transplant critical care units to transatlantic racing yachts, the Borneo jungle, and the Gobi Desert. He is actively engaged with research and clinical support across the organization.
