Graham Devereux trained at Cambridge and Oxford Medical School and his postgraduate clinical training in respiratory and general medicine was in Newcastle, Nottingham and Aberdeen. He was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Aberdeen in 2000 where he developed his clinical interests in asthma, COPD and cystic fibrosis.
Graham has an MD in asthma epidemiology and a PhD in neonatal immunology. Since 2005 he has held academic positions first in Aberdeen and since 2018, at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He retired in July 2024.
Graham has established research interest in the early life influences on the life course of respiratory disease and has been co-chief investigator for NIHR-HTA funded pragmatic trials in people with COPD.
